Creating Mailing Labels with Multiple-Column Reporting
Multiple column reporting is a great way to change the look of a report. It makes your data appear in columns instead of just straight down the page. Using multiple columns is a neat way to create mailing labels. First start off by inserting a text box in the details section of the report. Insert contact name, address, city, state, and zip code all on the appropriate line in the text box. If you were to print preview the report at this point, all the contact information would be printed straight down the left side of the page.
To apply multiple columns to this report go to…
- Report menu, and select Section Expert
- Highlight Details, and check the Format with Multiple Columns check box
- The Layout tab will appear, select it
- Set the column width to about 2.5 inches
- Click OK
Once you have completed these steps you should have three columns of contact address information instead of just one. |

Brain Teaser #1
A woman lives in a skyscraper thirty-six floors high and served by several elevators which stop at each floor going up and down. Each morning she leaves her apartment and goes to one of the elevators. Whichever one she takes is three times more likely to be going up than down. Why?
Brain Teaser #2
The beginning of eternity,
The end of time and space,
The beginning of every end,
The end of every place.
What can be described in this way?
Brain Teaser #3
Kevin likes the opera but not the ballet. He has a boxer but won't get a bulldog. He will travel to Colorado but not Alaska. He collects dimes but not nickels. Does he like bananas or grapes?

Answers to March's Brain Teasers |
Brain Teaser #1
A woman lives in a skyscraper thirty-six floors high and served by several elevators which stop at each floor going up and down. Each morning she leaves her apartment and goes to one of the elevators. Whichever one she takes is three times more likely to be going up than down. Why?
Answer #1:
She lives on the 27th floor. The elevator came down from the 36th to the 28th floor – 9 floors; or it came up from the 1st to the 27th floor – 27 floors. There fore there is a 3 to 1 chance of it going up rather than down.
Brain Teaser #2
There’s a certain 10-digit number where the first digit is equal to the number of zeros in the entire number, the second number is the number of 1’s in the entire number, and so on, to where the 10th digit is the number of 9’s in the entire number. What is the number?
Answer #2
6210001000 - See there are 6 zeros, 2 ones, 1 two, and 1 six |
